LEAF is all about encouraging healthy habits and habitat.

Students learn:

  • About sustainable farming
  • About natural processes (such as composting and butterfly migration)
  • The importance of native species
  • How to relate classroom lessons to the real world (such as using math to calculate how much pipe will be used for a new irrigation line)
  • Core life lessons (like patience and the value of hard work)

Working in our school gardens gives our children opportunities to experience a deeper understanding of, and appreciation for, the world around them.
